The Jura 2021

Springs, waterfalls and blind valleys in the Jura and the Doubs, in May 2021.

The Jura 2021

A spring holiday in France, between two lockdowns, spent in the country of water. The Haut-Doubs first: the Saut du Doubs on the Swiss border, the Poudrey chasm, a tuyé where sausages and hams are smoked, then the spectacular springs of the Loue and the Lison, which burst straight out of the foot of the cliffs.

Further south, the Jura proper: the Langouette gorges, the Hérisson waterfalls and their succession of drops, the Quatre Lacs viewpoint, the abbey of Baume-les-Messieurs at the end of its blind valley, and Arbois, capital of the vin jaune. The way back runs through Morez, the sinkholes of the Valserine and the Balme caves.
