Three islands, three moods. Lanzarote is a volcanic landscape tamed by César Manrique: the crossing to the islet of La Graciosa, the Mirador del Río, the lava tunnels of the Jameos del Agua, the vines planted in craters at La Geria, the green lake of El Golfo and the Timanfaya park, still warm underfoot.

The ferry leads to Fuerteventura, the driest of the three: the dunes of Corralejo, the fishing village of El Cotillo, the old capital Betancuria, the sea caves of Ajuy and the endless beaches of Sotavento, on the Jandía peninsula.

Gran Canaria last, the most mountainous: Las Palmas and its old town, the villages of Teror and Arucas, the climb to the Roque Nublo and the Cruz de Tejeda, the dunes of Maspalomas, the cave dwellings of Artenara and the Guayadeque ravine.
