Ireland 2023
Three weeks on the road around the island, from Dublin to Donegal by way of Kerry, Clare and Connemara, in July 2023.

A clockwise loop of Ireland, under a sky that changes ten times a day. We left Dublin by the Wicklow mountains and the monastic site of Glendalough, then Kilkenny and the Rock of Cashel before reaching the south coast at Kinsale.
Kerry took a good week: the Healy Pass, the crossing of the Gap of Dunloe, the lakes of Killarney, the Ring of Kerry and its cliffs, Valentia Island, then the Dingle peninsula with the Slea Head road and the Conor Pass. Further north, County Clare lines up Bunratty Castle, the Cliffs of Moher, a day by bicycle on the Aran Islands and the limestone pavement of the Burren.
Galway is the gateway to Connemara: Kylemore Abbey, the Killary fjord, the beaches of Dog's Bay and Bunowen. The road climbs on through Achill Island and Ballycroy National Park, the beaches of Sligo, then Donegal and the cliffs of Slieve League, among the highest in Europe, before turning back to Dublin.
