Thailand 2013
From Bangkok to the Phi Phi islands by way of Ayutthaya, Sukhothai and Chiang Mai, in the autumn of 2013.
Three weeks from north to south. Bangkok and its temples, then Kanchanaburi, the bridge on the river Kwai and the Erawan waterfalls. The old capitals follow: Ayutthaya and its brick temples, then Sukhothai, where we were lucky enough to arrive for the Loy Krathong festival of lights, with its thousands of floating lanterns. Chiang Mai and its elephants, then the long jump south to the cliffs and lagoons of the Phi Phi islands.
