Sicily 2010
A tour of Sicily in September 2010, from Marsala to Palermo by way of Agrigento, Syracuse, Etna and Taormina.
A full loop of the island, anticlockwise. The south coast and its Greek temples, Selinunte and the Valley of the Temples at Agrigento, the white cliff of the Scala dei Turchi, the mosaics of the Villa del Casale. Then the baroque south-east: Ragusa, Modica, Scicli, Noto and Syracuse.
The east coast lines up Catania, the craters of Etna, the Alcantara gorges and Taormina, with a day trip to the island of Vulcano. Home by way of the Madonie mountains and their villages, Palermo, the tonnara at Scopello, San Vito Lo Capo and Trapani.
